Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Traditional Chinese medicine is an insightful way that offers the ability to understand and address an individual’s health needs and it empowers the body to unite body, mind and spirit.
TCM offers a path to achieve balance, wellness and harmony.
It is one of the oldest healing practises and works on the basis that everything in our reality functions at the deepest invisible level and interacts with visible physical levels.
There are 4 basic key principles to TCM:
- Your body is an integrated whole: Every structure in the body is an essential and necessary part of the whole. Together with mind, emotions and spirit, the physical body forms a complex interrelated system that is driven by energy known as ‘chi’.
- People are completely connected to nature: Changes in nature reflect in the body. The season, time of day, when you were born, genetics, upbringing and the condition of the body is taken into account when looking at health issues
- The body had the ability to heal itself: Nature has regenerative capability and so does the body. Sometimes the ability for the body to heal itself is difficult to access but it is never lost
- Prevention is better than cure: The body constantly reveals signs about the state of its health. When symptoms are ignored more complex issues arise
TCM has been used for thousands of years to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. The belief is that the body’s is energy (chi) flows along meridian lines in the body. This energy flow keeps a persons spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health in balance
The aim of TCM is to restore the body’s balance and harmony by unblocking these channels and allowing the energy to flow freely.
